This has been a long time coming. I’ve always been a fan of dark, groovy and atmospheric techno, and this mix contains 15 tracks which I would certainly put in that category.
I started out with over 30 tracks and managed to narrow it down, but I still feel a little unsure about the track selection. The flow of the mix seems a little off to me, but this is the first time I’ve ever mixed these genres so hopefully it doesn’t sound too bad.
There is another first for this mix, and that is the fact that I’ve done post-processing on the audio. I did some compression and hard limiting, making the volume more even between tracks and transitions, and giving the mix a little more “oomph” when not played at loud volume.
Be patient, because the mix starts slow and builds momentum as it goes on. Make sure to strap yourself in, the first track grooves on for 8 minutes before the second one even starts! ;D
